One inspector for the whole building
Most projects run three or four inspection agencies — one for structural, one for firestopping, another for MEP. We cover all of it, which means one point of contact, one reporting format, and one set of records when the building official asks for the file.

Adhesive anchors are the single most installation-sensitive connection on most jobs. A hole that was never brushed will hold on the day it is set and let go under load.

By the time a defect in a structural pour is visible, it is behind formwork and under load. Concrete inspection is the one discipline where the observation window closes permanently.

Post-tension work is verified in two windows that never reopen: before the pour, and at stressing. Miss either and the only remaining evidence is paperwork.

Applied fireproofing is only worth its rating if the thickness, density and bond all hold. Two of those three cannot be judged by eye.

A firestop system is only rated as a complete assembly. Substitute one component — the fill depth, the sleeve, the annular space — and the listing is void, whether or not it was ever inspected.

Steel connections are inspected while they are being made or not at all. Once the fireproofing goes on, the weld is a matter of record, not observation.

Shear wall performance comes down to nail spacing, edge distance and whether the hold-down was actually bolted to something. All three are cheap to verify and expensive to discover later.

ASTM E2174 allows destructive sampling of concealed penetrations — opening a defined percentage to verify the population, agreed with the building official in writing before any opening is made. We coordinate that process end to end and document every location, condition, and restoration, so a missed inspection window does not become a stalled close-out.
Public agency and federal projects
We have inspected on federal, state and municipal work, including projects for the U.S. Navy. That work carries documentation requirements private construction does not — written notification to the Contracting Officer and formal non-conformance reporting rather than a verbal correction on site. We inspect to the California Building Code or the International Building Code depending on the jurisdiction and the edition it has adopted, and the governing code is stated on every report.
